Join us for her book release as well as crafts, camaraderie and pizza on Saturday, November 29, 2025, 11AM -12:30PM at Sisters Pizza, 3603 Fourth Avenue, Hillcrest, 92103. We will be donating $2.00 from each book purchased to our local LGBTQ+ Youth Center through the Thanksgiving Day Weekend, so get your copies of this adorable book from us today to help support our young neighbors. Pizza and beverages will be available to purchase from Sisters Pizza - YUM!! And Hey Friends - if you want to support Marcie and Bluestocking Books, but do not want a copy of the book for yourself or a loved one, we can donate your purchase to Reach Out and Read, a national reading program for children 1-5 years old. Two Book Drives  Make Twice the Difference in Readers’ Lives!

"We are born and we die, that's how it is, but in between we give this purposeless existence a meaning by our drives."  Francis Bacon, artist (Oct 28 1909 - April 28 1992) At Bluestocking Books we give existence meaning through Book Drives! We are driven to collect books for two specific charitable groups: Reach Out and Read and the SDSU Prison Book Project. We used to kick off a charitable seasonal drive supporting Reach Out and Read. Now we accept donations ALL YEAR LONG from people who want to purchase baby books that are donated directly to UC San Diego Health NICU Follow-Up and Early Development Clinic and are distributed by doctors to families. We had a visiting doctor share with us how he worked in a clinic that supported this program, and that after parents got a little coaching and a book from staff he sees babies come back talking noticeably more on the very next visit. Cuddling and reading is magic! Enter BABYBOOKDRIVE into the search field at our website to view our stocked selections available to purchase for donation. Because these books are distributed by doctors during office visits, they need to be new copies appropriate for 1-5 year old children. And now we are hosting another book drive! We are collecting paperbacks requested for the SDSU Prison Book Project. They are providing prisons in California with libraries as well as fulfilling specific requests from incarcerated people. These donations can be used or new, about most topics. You can enter SDSUPBP in our website search field to see what we have in stock that can be purchased for donation. If you have a favorite book you would like to share, let us know and we can see if there are reprint paperbacks available for purchase to donate to the program.

The Winter Holiday Season Is Here - Books Make Great Gifts!  For hosts, for the young, for loved ones, and for yourself - a book is a great way to communicate friendship and ideas, as well as to give a person permission for relaxing and reading.
